My 12 Step Gaming Addiction Program



I've been having a problem lately.  I've been playing way to much Civilization 5.  Like 1am on a work night too much.  What can I say, it's good stuff!  It's formula lulls you into that 'just one more turn' mentality and the next thing you know, you've been playing 'just one more turn' for four hours!  So, I figured something had to be done with that problem.  So I went out and bought Halo Reach for the Xbox. 

You remember that scene in "Uncle Buck" where he talked about his 12 Step program for quitting smoking?  Quitting cigarettes and switching to cigars, then cigars to chewing tobacco, etc.?  Yah, something like that.  

Anyways...I've been neglectful of the old Xbox as of late.  I've gone so deep into the writing end that I failed to come up for a breath of air over the last month and a half or so.  It was then that I realized that the writing binges could be just as bad as the heavy gaming binges.   Really, it's all about finding a healthy balance in there between work, family, writing and taking a break.  That's the other important part; sometimes the old noggin just simply needs a break.  

Regardless...I'm now Halo bound on the 360 so if your'e out there and want an easy and clumsy target to take pot shots at?  Hit me up on Live!  My gamer tag is CinemaFromage!  I'm pretty keen on Rumble Pit and Firefight, just so's ya know ;)
